Before you press Play
- Own and install Elden Ring and Minecraft: Java Edition. The original project page lists Elden Ring App Ver. 1.17.1 and Minecraft: Java Edition; check those requirements on the original listing when starting.
- Install the official Melty Windows app (opens in a new tab). Melty's Play route is the route described here. Do not combine it with another author's GitHub ZIP or a Remix's files.
- Back up saves or use a save you are comfortable testing with. The creator calls the project experimental. The Melty listing says its route starts Elden Ring offline with Easy Anti-Cheat off; launching Elden Ring normally through Steam is a different route.
Start your first session
- Open the original listing. Visit Minecraft Ring by siddoff (opens in a new tab) in Melty and read its current requirements. Expected: You can identify both required games and the Play action. If not: stop on that page; do not use a similarly named Remix as the original.
- Check both installations. Confirm Elden Ring matches the creator-listed App Ver. 1.17.1 and that the Microsoft account you will use owns Minecraft: Java Edition. Expected: Both games are locally available. If not: resolve the missing game or version before trying Play.
- Press Play in Melty. The creator says Melty prepares and starts both games. On first run, sign in to Minecraft if prompted. Expected: Elden Ring opens and Minecraft is ready in the background. If not: read Melty's exact missing-game or sign-in message; do not substitute game files from a different project.
- Choose Continue in Elden Ring. The creator says Minecraft then places you in the Lands Between. Expected: Minecraft's movement and HUD appear in Elden Ring's world. If not: confirm you used the original siddoff listing and the supported Elden Ring version before restarting the route.
- Try one visible action. Press
Eto open the Minecraft inventory, then use the mouse to place or break a block in a safe area. Expected: The inventory responds and the block action is visible in the bridge world. If not: useF8to check which game currently has control, then review the original listing's controls.
The project starts in Creative mode. The creator says /gamemode survival enables taking damage; enter it only after you have confirmed the basic controls.
Controls and what each game contributes
| Key or action | In the original siddoff project |
|---|---|
WASD and mouse |
Move and look with Minecraft controls. |
| Left / right mouse | Break / place blocks; use equipped Minecraft actions. |
E |
Open Minecraft inventory. |
F5 |
Switch first- or third-person camera. |
R |
Use Elden Ring doors, levers and Sites of Grace. |
F8 |
Switch control between Minecraft and Elden Ring. |
Minecraft provides movement, building, inventory and weapons. Elden Ring continues to provide the world and interactions; death returns you to the last Site of Grace according to the creator. These controls are for the original listing, not automatically for every Remix.
Known limits and a first troubleshooting path
The creator marks terrain, lifts and fast travel as rough edges. Play this project offline through its Melty route. If an expected action fails, first check the two game editions and the original listing, then confirm the current control mode with F8. If the launch fails before gameplay, use the exact message from Melty and the creator's project page; this independent guide does not claim a universal fix or a completed local test.
Original project and remixes
Melty lists siddoff as the creator of Minecraft Ring. Siddoff credits justbustin's minecraft-crossover-bridge (opens in a new tab) as earlier bridge work. The source relationship does not make those separate builds interchangeable.
| Project | Creator shown on its Melty page | Difference from this page's original route |
|---|---|---|
| Minecraft Ring (opens in a new tab) | siddoff | Original project and the Play route described above. |
| Minecraft Ring: Lands Between (opens in a new tab) | Derek Bohannan | A Remix with a guided first-minute route card; use its own requirements and controls. |
| EldenCraft improvements (opens in a new tab) | leland Renteria | A Remix focused on doorways, stairs and a separate install folder; use its own requirements. |
Do not install a Remix over the original by copying files between them. Each linked Melty listing is its own entry.
Sources checked October 19, 2026: siddoff's original Melty page (opens in a new tab), creator GitHub repository (opens in a new tab), and the two linked Remix pages. GameMerging AI has not independently play-tested this build.
